What GoParkDay collects when you plan a trip, use the live park pages or talk with our planners, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who we are
GoParkDay ("we", "us") runs goparkday.com, an independent, unofficial guide that helps families plan Disney trips. The family behind GoParkDay also books trips as planners; bookings are made by Doggo On Board Adventures, an Independent Agency in the Avoya Travel Network. Questions about this policy or your data go to [email protected].
2. What we collect
Without an account: the answers you give while planning (dates, how many adults, children's ages, home airport, hotel and park choices, budget) stay in your browser's local storage on your device. They reach our servers only to search prices or build your plan, and are not kept there with your name.
At the park: the live park pages keep, on your device, your children's heights (to check ride height limits), the park-day plan they make for you, your progress through the day (rides marked done or skipped, Lightning Lane return times you hold, breaks) and the last park update, in your browser's local storage and its offline cache for those pages. Signing out clears the heights, the day plans, your progress and the assistant's offline copy from this device (the last park update, which holds nothing about you, can stay); clearing this site's data in your browser clears everything. With a free account, the heights and each day's plan and progress are also saved with your trip. While you're signed in, the park assistant also syncs that day's state to your account (the park, the date, the day's plan, your progress, and which reminders were already shown or sent; never a location), so every phone signed in to your account shows the same plan. Signing out on one phone does not delete your account's copy: each synced day is deleted 2 days after its date.
Your location: when you allow it, the park assistant reads your phone's location while it is open on screen, to show where you are in the park. The location stays in the page's memory on your phone: it is not saved, not sent to our servers and not stored by us.
Park-day reminders: if you turn on reminders (with a free account), we store your browser's push subscription (the address your browser's push service gave it, and its encryption keys), the language reminders are written in, and your reminder switches. While reminders are on, our server also uses that synced day to send the right reminder at the right time. For reminders before a trip, our server reads the dates and planned park days of your saved trips in about the next two months (the earliest pre-trip reminder, for dining reservations, comes about 60 days before).
With a free account: your email address, the name you give, your password if you set one (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider; an account made with an emailed code has none), your language, your saved trips, and your messages with our planners, including any phone number, WeChat ID and contact preference you add. When you ask us for real prices or to book a trip, the request also carries your kids' ages (ages only: never names, birthdays or heights) and the budget range you pick, and we keep a short record of the request (which trip, which day, and whether it came in after that day's booking slots were full) so each trip is handed over once and we can keep to a daily limit.
If you applied to or work with us as an advisor (our advisor network is paused and not taking applications): your application, profile and agreement records, your plan (Starter, Growth or Elite), your subscription and billing status, your payout account status, and the figures we route requests by (requests this month, requests returned unanswered, reply times). Card and bank details are entered with our payment provider, Stripe, and are not stored by us.
Automatically: your IP address and basic request details, used to keep the service secure and to limit abuse, and cookies that keep you signed in, remember your language, remember that you closed the tip about opening the site outside WeChat, and — when you arrive through an advisor's link — remember that advisor for 30 days. On your first visit, one more cookie remembers for 90 days the page you first opened here, the name of the website that sent you (such as google.com, never the full address), any campaign tags in that link and the date, with no ID and nothing about you; if you later message our planners, we keep it with that conversation so we know which pages help families find us. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. How we use it
To build and price your trip; to let our planners check it, answer your questions and book it when you ask; to send park-day reminders when you turn them on; to email you when our planners reply (you can stop these emails with the link in each one); to keep accounts secure and prevent abuse; and to fix problems with the service. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
4. Who sees it
Our planners are the husband-and-wife team behind GoParkDay. When you message us or send us a trip, either of us may read it and reply, and we see the trips you send, your messages, your email address and the contact details you give, so we can help and book. Bookings are made by Doggo On Board Adventures, an Independent Agency in the Avoya Travel Network. When you ask to book, we pass the travel suppliers involved (for example an airline, a hotel or Walt Disney World) only what the booking needs, such as the travellers' names and ages.
Our advisor network, through which independent travel advisors could take on customers, is paused; while it is paused, our planners answer every conversation.
When you send us a trip, it includes what is saved with it: the children's ages and heights, and any park-day plans and progress. We see that copy, as it was when you sent it.
An advisor account's plan, billing and payout status and routing figures are seen by that advisor and by our administrators; customers do not see them. Stripe processes subscription payments and payouts for us under its own terms.
Service providers process data for us under contract: website hosting, our database and sign-in provider, and our email delivery provider. Park-day reminders are delivered through your browser's push service (for example Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft); the reminder's text is encrypted for your browser. To price flights and hotels, the trip details (dates, airports, number of adults, and the children's ages, which fares and room rates depend on) go to our flight and hotel search provider — never your name, email or phone. Live waits and park hours are fetched by our server from ThemeParks.wiki; nothing about you is sent to it.
The photos on the site load straight from Wikimedia Commons, so your browser's IP address and basic request details reach the Wikimedia Foundation when a photo shows. We may disclose information when the law requires it.
5. Children
A trip plan includes the ages of the children travelling, because prices and park plans depend on them, and, if you enter them, the children's heights, to check ride height limits. Accounts are for adults (18 or over) planning for their family; the service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account, trips and messages while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it with your trips, messages and reminder data, except records we must keep for a booking we made for you or for legal, tax or accounting reasons, which we keep only as long as required.
A park day synced to your account is deleted 2 days after its date. A device's push subscription is deleted when you turn reminders off on it, when you sign out on it, or when its push service tells us it no longer exists.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your personal information, stop our notification emails at any time with the link in each email, and turn park-day reminders off in the park assistant. You can delete your account and trips yourself on your account page after entering your password; while a trip is in progress with our planners, email us and we'll take care of it. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have these rights by law, and we will not treat you differently for using them. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will answer within 30 days.
8. Security
Connections to the site are encrypted, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and each account can read only its own trips and messages. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
9. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top, and for a significant change we tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
